First Place Winner ~~ Gina K Designs Stamp TV ( To be published )

I am so thrilled to announce that not only was this card the First Place Winner on the Gina K Designs Stamp TV website, it was also chosen to be published in a national magazine.

I initially created the project for a Stamp TV challenge. The challenge was to create a card with multiple layers. If you look closely, you can count the 17 layers used in the construction of this project.

"Creative Scrapbooker Magazine" will be publishing this card ( and another one posted right after this) in their Spring Issue on stands nationwide March 1st, 2016. 

I will be away in Palm Springs, California (escaping the Canadian winter) when it goes on sale so my Stamping Club girls promise to scoop up some copies for me.

"Front Step Fold" Card ( To be published)

This was my first attempt at a Front Step Fold card and I was quite excited at the result.

What is even more exciting, is that it was chosen to be published in "Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine".

Because of the spring like  feel to it, they are choosing to publish it in the Spring 2016 Issue on stands March 1st .

Christmas Cardinal

The Cardinal first stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black, then water coloured with "Twinkling H2O's. This type of water colour medium has a very very subtle glimmer/glitter to it. I haven't used my H2O's for years and glad to bring them out again to colour this stamp.

I dry embossed the second white layer and used framelit dies to cut the two layers underneath the cardinal.

Happy Birthday Wishes

Paris

Paris will always be the most beautiful place I have ever visited. 

As an homage to this great city, I stamped a collage to create a French feel for the background paper.

I then stamped the very feminine bustier, added glitter and rhinestones for that "Ooh La La" feel and fussy cut it to be able to pop it up with dimensionals.

Wishing peace and love for this great city.

Spooky Halloween

I had lots of fun with the design of this card. The stamp is comprised of all different themed sections, and therefore, when focusing on one particular area, I had to keep in mind colour coordination to keep it flowing together. 

The medium I used was Twinkling H2O's watercolours.

This type of watercolour has a shimmer/glitter mixed into it and, after adding water to the H2O's, you apply with a watercolour brush. 

Very time consuming method, but the end result is a project well with the effort.

A Little Dash of Cheer

"Freshly Made Sketches Challenge" ; "CCMC380 Challenge" and  "Always Playing With Paper Colour Challenge" using Smokey Slate, Real Red and Basic Black.

The snowflake was stamped with Versamark, heat embossed then die cut through the Big Shot and popped up with dimensionals.

Star of Wonder

Of the over 3,000 stamps in my craft studio, this precious little lamb stamp is my very most favourite.

I first stamped him in Versamark on the top layer and then heat embossed with black embossing powder to create a crisp image. I then repeated that step on another piece of paper, fussy cut the image and added dimensionals to pop him up from the first image. I then applied glue and white flocking to give him a furry white texture.

I used water colour pencils to create the night sky and the halo effect from the shining star.

I then applied a very fine glitter to give it that "starry night" feel.

I mixed white flocking with very fine glitter for the snow, and coloured rhinestones for the stars.

Birthday Wishes~~First Place Winner in Gina K Stamp TV Challenge~~

The challenge for this project was to create a card with a 1~2~3 Recipe. Therefore, the card had to have 1 of something, 2 of something and 3 of something. 

I have 1 bow embellished with 1 decorative brad, 2 sets of circles and 3 floral images. 

In order to coordinate the colours, I created my own patterned paper by stamping leaf branches with Momento Tuxedo Black on the Soft Suede card stock.

Just for fun, I really piled on the layers.

This card has 16 layers from card base to brad.

The stamps, steel die and patterned papers used for this project are from Gina K Designs.

The scalloped punch is Martha Stewart. After constructing the base layers, I then stamped the scalloped circle frame with Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. Stamped the butterfly and then die cut both those pieces with the Big Shot.

To embellish the butterfly I applied clear glitter with a Sakura Pen and petite pearls.

"Paper Players 269 Challenge" ~Autumn Theme

For the leaves on this card I made my own "stamp pad" by mixing droplets of re-inkers in three colours on four layers of moist hand wipes.

Once the ink is dropped, it spreads on the wipes and the outer edges of the colours combine.

When leaf stamps were inked up, all three colours appeared on the stamped image.

The Cheery Lynn vines were die cut through the Big Shot. The fern like leaves are an MS punch.

The frame was created with oval thinlits dies also cut through the Big Shot.

Three colours of thin raffia tied together create the bow.

All these elements combined created a very rustic, yet elegant texture for the theme of this project.

Card~In~A~Box

Although very time consuming, the "Card~In~A~Box" technique is really lots of fun once you choose a theme, colour scheme, DSP, and then run with it. 

This card folds completely flat and fits an A-2 envelope.

I have made this card with a floral theme, an Easter theme and a snowflake theme.

My Great Niece is going to love this Birthday card...( especially the googly eyes).
